Get The Look- Aubergine Smoky Eye

The smoky eye is one of the most classic looks. And it's also one of the most requested. There is a tutorial video on exactly how to do my Aubergine Spin on the Classic Smoky Eye, step by step, being put up on my youtube channel. Here is the steps written out for you.

You don't have to use the same exact products as me, if you don't have them then just use whatever you have that is the most compatible.

Step 1:
Curl Eyelashes. Apply a primer or cream base for your eye shadow. This will make the eye shadow stay put, stay put longer, not fade, stay true to it's color and also will make the color more dramatic.
I use ELF Shimmering Facial Whip in the closest shade to my natural skin tone.

Step 2: Apply a white shimmering eye shadow to the inner corners, the brown bone, and drag it from the inner corners towards middle of the eye lid.
I use Rimmel London's Glam'Eyes Mono Eye Shadow in White Cloud.

Step 3: Apply a Aubergine (Deep Violet Purple, think Satin) Eye Shadow from the middle of the eyelid all the way to the outside corners. Make sure to get it in the crease and everything. Drag the color towards the inner corner on top of your white, but don't take it all the way into the inner corner! Take a little bit more on your brush and drag it along your lower lid, all the way to the inner corner.
I use the darkest purple in my Sephora Collection Endless Color BlockBuster Palette Limited Edition.

Step 4: Take your favorite black eyeshadow, and define the outer V, by taking it back and forth in outer corner of your eye, along your natural V. Don't get a lot of black on your applicator or brush though, you can always apply more- but you can't take less off! Then take a little bit more of the black, and drag it along your lower lid like you did with the purple, but this time only take it a little short of half way.
I use the black from the same palette as the purple.

Step 5: Blend all those colors outward. Don't blend them inward or you will get the darker colors where you don't want them. This will create one solid look, and will also soften the colors.

Step 6:Apply black eyeliner on the top lash line, end to end. Make sure to get it as close to those lashes as possible. And really get into them! Then take it 1/3 of the way across your water line on your bottom lash line. Don't forget to make your outer corners nice and pointed!
I use Wet N Wild ColorIcon Eyeliner in Black.

Step 7: Apply a black, thickening Mascara on all eyelashes. One-two coats on the top, however many you want. Then just do a quick swipe along the lower lashes.
I use CoverGirl Lash Blast in Blackest Black.

Step 8: Step back and admire your pretty face:)

Foot Notes and Tips:

*These colors look great on all colors of eyes, purple is a color almost everybody can wear*

*If you apply eyeliner all the way into the inner corner on the bottom lash line, it will actually make your eyes appear smaller rather than rounder and bigger*

*The color Black naturally makes your eyes shine and your teeth appear whiter, because of the natural contrast between black and white. So, if you want your eyes to really sparkle, go for the black liner and mascara*

*Use shimmery shadows if you don't want your look to get too dark. Shimmer breaks up the pigmentation in eyeshadow, causing it to become a lighter shade. All the colors I used above have loads of shimmer- especially the black*

*Don't forget to recognize your natural beauty, and remember to use colors and styles that enhance your naturally beautiful facial features, and not ones that will hide or smother the already beautiful you*

*Wear make up you are comfortable in. Don't try to go for a look just because Suzy rocks it. Wearing make up that makes you feel uncomfortable or silly, will make you appear less confident and sometimes upset*

*Remember to experiment with looks to find ones that fit your style, schedule and personality. Don't ever try to be anyone that isn't you*

*Make up is really and truly an art form. So above all, we should always, always have fun and be creative. Art should always reflect it's Artist!*
