What Brush Are You Using?

I thought I would talk a little bit about hair brushes.

Personally, I prefer to use Paddle Brushes. I own both synthetic and non synthetic brushes that are the paddle variety. I prefer them because I have long hair, and they don't tangle your hair. I have used so many brushes that tangle your hair when you're brushing it, and for me, I have never had a problem with a paddle brush tangling my hair. Ever!

I would never go back to using any other kind of hair brush other than my paddle!

Aussie Catch The Wave + Leave In Conditioner Mousse: Review!

I struggle finding Mousse for my hair that I actually like. The other day I bought this Mousse from Aussie, it's the catch the wave "Mousse and Leave In Conditioner". This is so light! I hate it when mousse makes your hair feel crunchy or stiff, and this doesn't at all. Also, when you're putting it into your hair it doesn't make your hair OR HANDS feel sticky at all! Also, you can use tons of it and it will not make your hair stiff. I love this and it's the only mousse I will use. Plus it's super moisturizing!

Maybelline Dream Mousse Line Review

I would like to point out that at this point and time this is my absolute favorite line of cosmetics!
I love the Dream Matte Mousse foundation, (I talk about it a little bit in my Spring Favorites 2011 video.) It says it leaves a Matte finish but I have found it to be quite dewy. The company markets this to girls with oily skin, however I have dry skin and I find this to be very protecting and moisturizing. It has amazing coverage but will not look cakey! It's so easy to apply too. Very smooth, and the colors are the best I've ever seen.

I have also tried the Dream Smooth Mousse, and the Dream Liquid Mousse and the results are about the exact same as I posted above. The Liquid Mousse is a tad bit thicker, so it's a bit more sticky. But once it is rubbed in it doesn't bother me at all because you can't feel it on at all!

I love the blushes and bronzers also. The colors are gorgeous, and they are extremely build-able so anyone can wear any of the colors they have. They feel great on, and they have a slight shimmer to them also, which is pretty for summer. I just love this whole line! Use it everyday! I don't think I will ever stop using this product.

Maybelline Dream Mousse line is the only line that has a foundation that matches my skin tone perfectly. All other companies foundation are always slightly the wrong color- but with this it fits my tone perfectly. They seem to have a more yellow base & tan base which is the major pigments in my skin. For some reason it's very hard for me to find make up that matches perfectly, but this was an amazing fit! Love it. 10 stars.

**The only products from the Dream Mousse line that I haven't tried would be:

Two Products Till Soft, Shiny, Lustrious Hair!

I am have experimenting using different products on my hair for shampoo and conditioner. This morning I used two products:

~St Ive's Oatmeal & Shea Nut BODY WASH (I used this as shampoo)

               Then I followed up with
~Suave Professional's Almond & Shea Butter Conditioner.

I have been trying to use some moisturizing body washes & creams in place of my shampoo and see if it makes a difference. As you all know, my hair is about waist length, and tends to run dryer. I of course use very moisturizing products, to try and keep the moisture in my hair to maintain it's healthy and shiny state. I loved this as a shampoo. It worked really well and after I rinsed it out my hair felt like how it usually feels after I rinse out conditioner.

I love this conditioner. I never expected a lot out of it when I first tried it, because it's a 'Suave' product. However, it is my second favorite conditioner in the world! I use this all the time, and it really moisturizes! It makes your hair soft and shiny and helps to fight against splitting ends.

The over all effect of using these two products in conjunction was fantastic! I will definitely be using these very regularly.

When my hair is happy, I'm happy.

Here's A Few Pics I snapped for ya so you can check out the SHINE: I did not use a flash. Taken with webcam.

Kiss Your Bad Hair Days Goodbye! Mwah...

Oh Goodness. I try really hard to avoid bad hair days! I have them a lot though. Everyday is a bad hair day for me. Lately I've been so bored with my hair. I love doing my hair, don't get me wrong- it's just lately I've been like... just too frustrated and stressed out to enjoy it as much as I usually do. I don't really know why... but it's like I'm constantly nervous for some un known reason. It's kind of creeping me out, but I guess I'll figure it out eventually. I actually have really, really nice hair right now. When I say really, really nice I mean it's super duper healthy right now. I found some amazing products that I can credit this to, and also I have to give credit to God for giving me hair that is usually naturally healthy anyway! But these products are Amazing!

1. John Frieda Root Awakening Conditioner for DRY HAIR.
Emphasis is on the DRY HAIR for a reason. They have Normal Hair, Breakage Prone Hair, and Dry Hair. If you don't get the dry hair it won't have the same effect. Each kind is different, they even have a different color and consistency. The dry hair one is the best, I have used all three and the other two kind of stink. This one is awesome, it has natural Eucalyptus and you can feel it working. It really hydrates your scalp too. It makes your hair super soft, super shiny and it never gets any tangles even all day long! It also smells good. It tingles when you put it in your hair, and it is just awesome.

2. Suave Professionals Almond & Shea Shampoo
I was not expecting a lot out of this SUAVE product, but it is the best shampoo I have ever used. Honestly. It's really great- it's moisturizing, and it doesn't dry out your hair. It suds really nice but doesn't make your hair feel like straw after you rinse it out! It has some natural things in it... but is definitely NOT natural! I have used Certified Organic beauty and hair products, and they work pretty well. But this definitely works just as well. I really like this product, and it's so cheap!

3. Pantene Beautiful Lengths Replenishing Mask
This product is really well. When I use it, I put it in AS conditioner (as instead of conditioner) and I leave it in for around 5 minutes. This makes your hair SUPER smooth and SUPER shiny. Don't let it in longer than 5 minutes or you might turn into a grease ball! I actually have more dry hair, and if I leave this in too long it will make my roots look slightly greasy- and my hair NEVER looks greasy! This helps your ends get un-split. I thought it was impossible for something to prevent split ends, and I never imagined a product that actually reversed them, but this does just that! I had some split ends when I started using this, but I don't have any at all anymore! I love this product!

Another thing I do to keep my hair healthy is I always rinse my hair with cold water. Not even warm. Frigid degrees sometimes. I never use hot water in the shower on my skin either, because my skin tends to run dryer, so I don't want to dry out my skin and definitely not my precious locks!

One other thing is I always use heat protectant spray or cream before I blow dry or straighten my hair.

I also use my blow dryer on cool or cold settings, because if you use a hot setting, it will dry the outside of your hair, but it will leave the shaft of the hair wet, so when you use heat products on your hair it will cause your hair shaft to blister and eventually break off. Which causes frizz and flyaways, let alone damage and straw-like textures.

The last thing I always do is I always use natural hair brush. Brushes with plastic bristles (especially the ones with the plastic ball on the end of the bristles) cause your hair to break, because your hair isn't supposed to have those nasty plastic constantly scraping it and ripping it apart. Always use a natural hair brush to brush your hair, and if you have to have a comb- always use a wide tooth or a wooden comb. Stick to things that come from the earth- always a good rule of thumb. I bought my natural hair brush at Meijer for like 7 books. It was a little bit pricey (if you're comparing it to Scunci or Equate) but my hair loves me for splurging on it.

This kind of turned into a review, but hey... It's good to share our knowledge with each other:) Xoxo!
